The Rock Reveals The Truth Behind ‘Beef’ With John Cena

The Rock has revealed where his once bitter rivalry with John Cena began and how they have now settled their differences.

Dwayne’ The Rock’ Johnson forged his name inside the squared circle as one of the biggest WWE superstars of all-time.

The 46-year-old is now Hollywood’s highest-paid actor and a global household name.

And now Cena is following in his footsteps. After years of dominating in WWE, the 16-time world champion is enjoying success on the silver screen.

The Rock has even cast him for a role in one of his upcoming movies, ‘The Janson Directive’.

But the pair, who fought back-to-back WrestleMania main events in 2012 and 2013, did not see eye-to-eye, The Rock has revealed.

"I had left, and John Cena had done a series of interviews," he speaking on US TV show 'Watch What Happens Live’ .

"I just felt, and somebody had referenced me and said, ‘hey, is Rock ever coming back’, and he said, ‘I’m not quite too sure’, and I just didn’t like how he said it, and it stuck with me.

"So, years later when I went back (to WWE), I talked to Vince McMahon and we thought, ‘well what if we took that and actually created this kind of thing,’ and I said ‘perfect’."

The Rock beat Cena at WrestleMania 28 before losing the WWE title to his rival a year later in New York.

They teamed up at WrestleMania 32 in Dallas and now The Rock insists their ‘beef’ is no more.

"I think we’ve squashed that (beef). As a matter of fact John is gonna star in one of my movies that I’m producing," he said.

"I think he’s going great, he’s done great in his transition and he really wants to continue to work hard."
