Piers Morgan To Go Off Air For Seven Weeks

The controversial Good Morning Britain host revealed he would be leaving his show for some weeks- but will be returning to his post in September.

Piers Morgan, 53, told viewers alongside his co-host, Susanna Reid, he would be going on holiday until September, making tomorrow's (July 18) show his last for a long while.

He told viewers: "It's our last day tomorrow so you may as well tune in as I'm going to be completely demob-happy.

"Here's Lorraine Kelly, she'll miss me even more than Susanna."

Susanna looked pretty happy to have her break from her co-host, who she has previously stated is in a "constant battle" with her for air time on the show.

There is no news at present as to who will be taking over from the duo, while on their sister show This Morning, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield announced they would also be taking a holiday.

Their time off will be covered by usual Thursday and Friday hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford .

Fans were mixed in their reaction to the news of Piers' temporary departure, with some vowing to find something else to watch for the next seven weeks.

ITV has confirmed Piers will return to the small screen on September 3, but at present the stand-in hosts have not been revealed.
