Man Kills Wife For Not Making Him Egg Curry

A husband has allegedly shot his wife dead after she refused to cook him an egg curry, it has been reported.

Navneet Shukla, 33, had reportedly demanded the dish from his wife Mangesh because it was a Thursday.

Navneet, who was said to be drunk, was said to have left their home but returned later with his dad's licenced gun.

He shot his wife, the mother of their three children, back, killing her, it was alleged.


Neighbours heard the gunfire and rushed to the house to find the body.

The shocking incident occurred in the village of Shahjahanpur, Devdas, India.

Police arrested Navneet on Friday and he was sent to Shahjahanpur district jail after appearing in court.

The couple had been married 12 years.

ASP Dinesh Tripathi told the newspaper: "The children and parents of the couple were not at home at the time of the crime.

"The accused husband was under the influence of alcohol at the time.

"He has been arrested and he has expressed remorse for his crime."

Navneet's parents were said to be looking after the children.
